After Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo had their rematch at UFC 176 cancelled, due to the latter getting injured, Dana White is reporting that the two are re-booked to fight in October.

Aldo and Mendes were set to battle on August 2nd, but a neck injury forced the featherweight champ to withdraw. According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, White didn’t relay an exact date for the bout, however, he did confirm it will take place in Brazil. White made the announcement following UFC on FOX 12.

UFC 179 is set to take place October 25th in Rio de Janeiro.

Since Aldo-Mendes II was postponed, the two have exchanged plenty of verbal jabs, and now the latest chapter in their rivalry has been booked.

In their first meeting, at UFC 142 in January, 2012, Aldo KO’d Mendes in the first round.
