(Updated) Report: Dana White Denies Nick Diaz Has Received Bout Offer

UFC President Dana White

By FCF Staff

Dana White has made it clear he wants Nick Diaz to return to the Octagon, and recently acknowledged he’s been in contact with the welterweight, but the UFC President says no bout offer has been tabled.

Recently Diaz’s trainer Cesar Gracie reportedly informed BJ Penn.com Radio that Diaz has received an offer from the UFC. In a report from MMA Fighting.com, however, White has denied the fighter has been offered a bout.

After Diaz lost by unanimous decision to Georges St. Pierre in March he said his fighting career might be over, but more recently the 29 year-old vet has expressed an interesting in competing again.

(Update: Gracie posted the following tweet late Thursday afternoon: “Misquoted on @bjpenndotcom. No new contract or new bout agreement.”)
