Report: Dana White Says CM Punk Will Train With Roufusport

By FCF Staff

Phil “CM Punk” Brooks has apparently selected a home gym to prepare for his UFC debut, and as expected, it’s a camp with several decorated fighters.

According to UFC President Dana White, the pro-wrestling star has decided to train at Milwaukee’s Roufusport, which is home to UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis, his brother Sergio Pettis, ONE FC welterweight champ Ben Askren, Erik Koch, Dustin Ortiz, Rick Glenn, and Chico Camus among others.

According to multiple reports, White said he’s “pretty sure” Brooks has decided to train with the gym, while appearing on FOX Sports Live.

Brooks has reportedly trained with jiu-jitsu guru Rener Gracie off-and-on in the past, but following his UFC signing, the former WWE star had yet to pick a home camp.

The 36 year-old, who is expected to make his UFC debut sometime in late 2015, had noted that he hoped to train relatively close to his home in Illinois.

Roufusport has long been considered to be one of the premier gyms in MMA, but accusations surfaced earlier this year that some of the staff promote harmful training practices. The gym’s head coach, Duke Roufus, has denied that the camp isn’t concerned about fighter safety.
