Report: Darren Elkins to Fight Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FOX 10
By FCF Staff
After knocking out Rony “Jason” in impressive fashion at UFC Fight Night 32 earlier this month, Jeremy Stephens will take on the promotion’s #10 ranked featherweight Darren Elkins next, as the two have reportedly agreed to fight on January 25th. The bout will be part of UFC on FOX 10, which will be hosted by Chicago’s United Center.
The fight has not been officially announced by the promotion, however, NWI.com and FOX Sports.com are reporting the match-up.
Stephens (22-9) has won two straight bouts now since dropping down from lightweight to featherweight, as the powerful striker earned a unanimous decision win over Estevan Payan at UFC 160 in May. Prior to his recent wins the 27 year-old had lost consecutive fights to Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone andYves Edwards.
Elkins (17-3) is coming off a UD win over Hatsu Hioki at UFC FN 27 in August, after being knocked out by Chad Mendes at UFC on FOX 7 in April. The 29 year-old fighter is 8-2 in his last 10 fights.
The headliner for UFC on FOX 10 is expected to be announced soon.
