In recent weeks there’s been plenty of speculation regarding who will face Dominick Cruz next, and it looks like it will be Cody Garbrandt.

The consensus has been that either TJ Dillshaw or Garbrandt would challenge for the 135 title next. According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, multiple sources have told the outlet that the UFC is hoping to book Cruz vs. Garbrandt for December 30th. That’s the day UFC 207 will take place in Las Vegas.

Garbrandt (10-0) has won all five of his UFC appearances and most recently, he stopped Takeya Mizugaki.

The champion Cruz (22-1), meanwhile, decisioned Garbrandt’s friend and teammate Urijah Faber in his last outing.

UFC 207 will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between champion Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey.
