Report: Drug Testing in Place for Toronto’s UFC 152

By FCF Staff

All of the headliners as well as other, randomly selected competitors from tomorrow night’s UFC 152 card in Toronto, Ontario, will reportedly be tested be an independent drug testing firm.

The testing will be down in cooperation with the Ontario Athletic Commission, which ordinarily tests athletes for communicable diseases and pre-fight medical conditions. UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright announced the planned testing today, according to a report from MMA Junkie.

The Ontario Athletic Commission began regulating MMA events throughout the Province in 2010, and typically, testing for performance enhancing substances is left up to the promotion.

UFC 152 will feature co-main-events, as light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones will take on Vitor Belfort and Joseph Benavidez will meet Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title.

The card, which will be hosted by Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, will be broadcast via PPV.
