Report: Fedor Emelianenko Questions Whether His Path With Brock Lesnar “Will Cross Again”

Fedor Emelianenko

A mega-fight between Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko failed to materialized back in 2011, but now that both men have ended their MMA retirements, the latter is wondering if they could end up fighting after all…

In the past, UFC President Dana White has said that he was close to signing a fight between Lesnar and Emelianenko in 2011. Ultimately, however, the bout never happened. Lesnar was stopped by Alistair Overeem in December of that year and the heavyweight elected to retire. Fedor proceeded to hang up the gloves in the summer of 2012.

The Russian star ended his retirement this past December, however, stopped Jaideep Singh, and is scheduled to fight Fabio Maldonado on June 17th. Lesnar, meanwhile, just announced his return to MMA and will take on Mark Hunt at UFC 200, July 9th.

According to a recent report from Bloody Elbow.com, Emelianenko recently had this to say about Lesnar, while speaking to Sovsport.ru:

“Brock is an interesting opponent,” Fedor said. “Maybe our paths will cross again.”

Emelianenko’s upcoming bout with Maldonado will take place under the EFN banner in St. Petersburg. The card will be broadcast on Fight Pass.
