In a new age where PED users are going to be punished much more severely, the California State Athletic Commission has reportedly suspended Alexander Shlemenko for three years, after he allegedly failed a drug test in February.

According to multiple reports, Shlemenko has been suspended for that duration, and fined $10,000, for allegedly testing positive for steroid oxandrolone and oxandrolone metabolites. In addition, the former Bellator middleweight champ reportedly had a testostone/epitestosterone ratio of 50:1.

The tests were conduced in conjunction with Shlemenko’s knockout victory over Melvin Manhoef on February 13th.

The victory over Manhoef has also been overturned to a no-contest. Shlemenko and his team have denied that the fighter has used any banned substances.
