It appears as though the injury bug has taken out another headlining bout, as according to reports Frank Mir has been forced to withdraw from a November 3rd fight with Daniel Cormier.

The fight was set to headline the Strikeforce event, which will take place in Oklahoma City.

Mir’s injury is being reported by Sports Rage and MMA Junkie. According to the latter, a knee injury may be responsible for the withdrawal.

Mir (16-6) was set to compete for the first time since May, when he was stopped by UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos.  The loss was the former champ’s first in four bouts.

Cormier (10-0) was matched up with Mir to provide the recent grand prix winner a high profile bout, before he’s expected to join the UFC.

The decorated wrestler is coming off a unanimous decision win over Josh Barnett in May.

The November 3rd card will also feature Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold taking on Lorenz Larkin.
