Recently Hector Lombard said that a bout with Rory MacDonald “makes sense”, and according to new reports, the match-up will likely take place at UFC 186 on April 25th.

Lombard relayed that he was interested in fighting in MacDonald, following his recent, decision win over Josh Burkman at UFC 182. According to a report from Vendetta Fighter.com, verbal agreements are in place for Lombard-MacDonald to take place on April 25th.

Lombard also confirmed to MMA Fighting.com that the fight is targeted for UFC 186. The promotion has also told the outlet that the bout is not finalized.

MacDonald (18-2) is coming off a third round, stoppage win over Tarec Saffiedine in October, and is currently ranked #2 in the welterweight division. Lombard (34-4-1) is ranked #5.

UFC 186 will take place in Montreal, Quebec.
