Discussions as to whether fighters need some sort of association seem to be more widespread, since the UFC revealed the compensation for Reebok’s uniform deal, and Joe Rogan recently weighed in.

The UFC commentator recently had GLORY and Bellator middleweight Joe Schilling on his podcast, and according to a follow up report from Bloody Elbow.com, here is some of what Rogan had to say about the issue.

“So Jon Fitch posted about this thing: MMAFA, Mixed Martial Arts Fighters Association,” Rogan said. “The MMAFA is on twitter run by a guy named Rob Maysey. He must be in charge of it. I don’t think it is a bad idea to have some sort of an organization that looks out for fighters.”

“I also think it is super important to have something like Bellator, which is owned by Viacom, come up, become bigger and bigger, and bring more competition.”

Some fighters have said they’re happy with the UFC’s uniform deal, while others have been critical of the agreement’s compensation, and the fact they weren’t part of the negotiations.
