Report: Johny Hendricks Hoping to Remain at 170
By FCF Staff
Johny Hendricks may have been hospitalized last week due to a disastrous weight cut, and Dana White has called on him to move to 185, but it sounds like “Bigg Rigg” plans to stay at 170.
Hendricks had to go to an emergency room last week, due to complications he incurred while cutting weight, and was forced to withdraw from UFC 192. The former welterweight champ was scheduled to fight Tyron Woodley.
After the withdrawal, White relayed that in his opinion, Hendricks would be competing at 185 moving forward.
In the latest edition of “UFC Tonight”, the show’s Ariel Helwani reported that Hendricks plans to do a “mini-cut” next month. If his body reacts well, then Hendricks plans to continue competing at 170.
The 32 year-old’s only bout in 2015 took place this past March, and Hendricks won the fight via unanimous decision.
