While it remains to be seen what unfolds in Jon Jones’ upcoming legal battle, his manager says the former champ’s MMA career could be over.

Jones is currently facing up to three years in prison, after the renowned fighter was dealt a felony charge of hit-and-run recently. Following the 27 year-old’s arrest, Jones was stripped of the UFC’s light-heavyweight title and was suspended indefinitely by the UFC.

Malki Kawa, who is Jones’ manager, recently appeared on “The MMA Hour” to discuss the latter’s situation. While doing so, Kawa reportedly made the following comment about Jones’ future in fighting (comment via MMA Fighting.com):

“It could very well be the last time we’ve seen Jon Jones in the Octagon,” Kawa said. “I think Jon Jones is gonna focus on Jon Jones. I think he’s gonna take the time to do whatever he’s gotta do. And if it’s the last time we’ve seen him fight, it’s the last time we’ve seen him fight. And I’m OK with that.”

Kawa reportedly didn’t provide any specific details as to why he believes Jones could opt to retire, but he did note that the sport’s top stars have to deal with tremendous pressure.

In January, it was revealed that Jones tested positive for cocaine, leading up to his decision win over Daniel Cormier. The fighter was also arrested for a DWI in 2012.
