Jon Jones may be scheduled to fight the highly regarded Glover Teixeira on April 26th at UFC 172, but the light-heavyweight champ continues to field plenty of questions about former foe Alexander Gustafsson.

The reason being, of course, that following their memorable battle at UFC 165 in September, Gustafsson has locked up another title shot by stopping Jimi Manuwa last month. Since then, Gustafsson has reportedly accused Jones of attempting to avoid a rematch, provided the champ defeats Teixeira.

In a follow up interview with FOX Sports.com, here is some of what Jones had to say in response.

“I find it funny, because Gustafsson lost the fight fair and square,” Jones said. “I will admit he won Round 1 and Round 3, but that’s it. I won the fight. I’ve never heard someone chirp so much who lost…”

“We fought our hearts out,” Jones added. “I proved that I have three times the heart that he did.”

Following Jones’ decision win over Gustafsson at UFC 165, the champion elected to fight Teixeira next. The UFC has already announced that if Jones retains the title later this month, he will rematch Gustafsson later this year.

UFC 172 will be hosted by the Baltimore Arena and the main card will be available via pay-per-view.
