Although Jon Jones has signed off to fight Alexander Gustafsson, and is apparently in a good place with the UFC, the light-heavyweight weight champ isn’t happy about how things led to the rematch.

Not long ago, the UFC announced that it was hoping to book Jones-Gustafsson II for August 30th, but led it be known, that the champion hadn’t agreed to the fight. The news fired up certain critics of Jones, and then, he relayed he’d prefer to fight Daniel Cormier next.

Recently, it was announced that Jones has indeed agreed to fight Gustafsson on September 27th, but the star had this to say about the situation on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour.”

“I just kind of identified it with being a like strong-arm technique on their part, trying to get fans pushing for a fight and prematurely announcing a fight,” said Jones. “It’s not that I haven’t signed a contract, I hadn’t even heard that date before. I thought it was unprofessional, I thought it was a bullying technique, bully style, I don’t know what it was. But it is what it is.”

After the bout was made official, Jones also revealed that he didn’t want to fight Gustafsson on August 30th, since his brother is getting married in July. The champion also noted on “The MMA Hour” that his relationship with the UFC is in a “healthy spot”, due to the promotion’s plans to keep a “more open line of communication” with him.

The UFC’s #1, pound-for-pound ranked fighter also relayed that he’s not willing to fight Gustafsson in his native Sweden, since the latter is the challenger and he’s the champion.

Jones added that he’s willing to fight the contender in Toronto or Las Vegas, which have also been mentioned as possible destinations.
