By FCF Staff

Not long after the UFC announced that Jon Jones would defend the light-heavyweight title versus Glover Teixeira on February 22nd, Dana White relayed today that the bout is not a go for UFC 170 afterall.

According to multiple reports, White informed the media today in Las Vegas that the bout was off due to Jones’ withdrawal. The UFC President did not offer an explanation as to why; however, he reportedly said the bout could take place in March.

This marks the second time now the match-up has been moved. Initially the fight was expected to take place February 1st in Newark, New Jersey.

Jones (19-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165, while Teixeira (22-2) locked up a title shot after stopping Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night 28.

UFC 170 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
