Report: Jose Aldo – Max Holloway Fight Planned For UFC 212
By FCF Staff
According to reports, the unification featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway will take place June 3rd, at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro.
Holloway secured the interim title in December by stopping Anthony Pettis in round three. Aldo was the interim featherweight champ until Conor McGregor won the lightweight championship in November, and the UFC announced that the Irish fighter was vacating the 145 belt. Aldo was then awarded the featherweight title.
Aldo secured the interim belt last summer at UFC 200, by earning a decision win over Frankie Edgar.
Recently Dana White told ESPN that a bout between Aldo and Holloway was finalized, but he couldn’t recall what date. Since then, Combate and FloCombat have reported the fight will take place on June 3rd.
