Report: Jose Aldo Says It’s His “Right” to Complain About Pay

Aldo

Jose Aldo could be headed for the biggest pay day of his career, when he fights Conor McGregor at UFC 189, but the featherweight champion continues to speak out about the issue of fighter compensation.

Aldo has made headlines in the past, by criticizing how much he and his colleagues are paid, and at a World Tour event in Los Angeles he had this to say (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I will always complain,” Aldo said through his interpreter. “This is the right that I have. I always want more. I will always want to earn more. This is the right that I have, so I’m going to continue doing this.”

The 28 year-old, who is coming off a decision win over Chad Mendes, also reportedly argued at a recent media event in Brazil that fighters “deserve to get paid more.” Aldo has won 18 straight bouts.

Aldo-McGregor will take place on July 11th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
