Anthony Pettis will reportedly get his chance to unseat reigning featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 163, which is expected to take place August 3rd in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The card will be hosted by the city’s HSBC Arena.

Although no official announcement has been made by the UFC regarding the fight, the Brazilian publication Tatame.com is reporting that the title fight is set for August 3rd. MMA Junkie is reporting that according to multiple sources, contracts for the bout have not been finalized, however, Rio de Janeiro is the frontrunner.

UFC President Dana White has relayed previously that both men have agreed to the bout.

Aldo (22-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar to extend the renowned fighter’s win streak to 15.

Pettis (16-2), meanwhile, request a bout with Aldo not long after the feared striker quickly stopped Donald Cerrone at a UFC on FOX card in January. The former WEC lightweight champ has won three straight fights.
