Report: Jose Aldo’s Training Session Postponed

Aldo

By FCF Staff

Yesterday, Jose Aldo’s teammate reported that the injured featherweight was going to train today and evaluate his condition, but according to a new report, that isn’t going to happen.

Aldo continues to recover from a rib injury he sustained last week, which has left his July 11th, UFC 189 bout with Conor McGregor up in the air. Jonas Bilharinho told “The MMA Hour” on Monday that Aldo planned to train for the first time since the incident today.

MMA Fighting.com’s Guilhereme Cruz is reporting, however, that he’s been told the session has been pushed to Friday. The champion is expected to assess his condition at that time.

If Aldo cannot fight on July 11th, Chad Mendes will face McGregor for an interim championship.

UFC 189 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
