Report: Kenny Robertson Replacing Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 175

Robertson

By FCF Staff

It looks as though Kenny Robertson has a new opponent, and fight date, as the welterweight has reportedly agreed to fight Ildemar Alcantara at UFC 175.

Alcantara had been set to face Santiago Ponzinibbio at the July 5th event, however, the latter has withdrawn due to injury. According to a report from Combate, Robertson has agreed to step in and fight Alcantara at the Las Vegas card.

Robertson (13-3), who is coming off a quick, submission win over Thiago de Oliveira Perpetuo in March, was scheduled to fight Zak Cummings July 16th. Cummings has been moved to fight Gunnar Nelson, however, at UFC FN 46 on July 19th.

Alcantara (20-6) is coming off a split decision win over Albert Tumenov in February.

UFC 175 will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center and will feature middleweight champ Chris Weidman taking on Lyoto Machida.
