Report: Kikuno-Mulhern Set For UFC Singapore

Kikuno

By FCF Staff

It looks like the UFC’s first trip to Singapore will not only feature the Octagon debut of Tatsuya Kawajiri, as Japanese lightweight Katsunori Kikuno will reportedly battle Quinn Mulhern at the January 4th event.

According to a report from FOX Sports.com, Kikuno and Mulhern have verbally agreed to the fight, and finalized contracts are expected soon.

Kikuno (21-5-2) will arrive in the UFC having won five straight bouts, three of which have come via knockout.

Mulhern (18-3) will be making his lightweight debut at the event, after the former welterweight was stopped by Rick Story at UFC 158 in March. The renowned grappler and Strikeforce vet is 3-2 in his last five bouts.

Recently news surfaced that Kawajiri will fight featherweight Hacran Dias at the promotion’s Singapore debut. A welterweight scrap between Jake Ellenberger and former Strikeforce champ Tarec Saffiedine will headline the card.
