Report: Knee Injury Forces Ian McCall to Withdraw From UFC on FOX 4
By FCF Staff
In the same week that the UFC announced that Ian McCall would fight newcomer John Moraga at UFC on FOX 4, the flyweight contender has reportedly announced that he has withdrawn from the bout due to a knee injury.
In a post attributed to McCall’s official account on the MMA forum the Underground, the fighter relayed that a recent MRI revealed he has strained his LCL, and as a result, he will not fight Moraga August 4th.
The UFC has not made any announcement regarding the reported injury.
McCall (11-3) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Demetrious Johnson in June, after battling the flyweight tourney finalist to a draw in March.
Prior to facing Johnson the 28 year-old McCall had won four straight fights.
Moraga (10-1) joins the UFC also having won four bouts in a row. The flyweight’s only professional loss came against recent TUF winner Jon Dodson in December, 2010.
