By FCF Staff
UFC President Dana White has said he wants to book Lyoto Machida vs. Luke Rockhold, and according to a new report, the two will fight at UFC on FOX 15.
Following Machida’s quick, stoppage win over CB Dollaway last month, Rockhold relayed he is hoping to fight “The Dragon” next, and White said he hoped to sign the fight. Now, in a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, sources have informed the outlet that Machida vs. Rockhold is currently scheduled for April 18th.
UFC on FOX 15 will take place on that day at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Rockhold (13-2) is coming off a dominant, submission win over Michael Bisping in November and has won three straight. Rockhold is currently ranked #5 in the UFC’s middleweight division.
Machida (22-5) was decisioned by middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 175, in July, before he defeated Dollaway. The former light-heavyweight champ is ranked #3 at 185.
