Report: M-1 and Bellator Vet Raphael Davis Charged With Insurance Fraud
By FCF Staff
Bellator and M-1 veteran Raphael Davis has reportedly been charged with four felony accounts of insurance fraud by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
According to a report from USA Today, the charges stem from claims the fighter made from December, 2008, through May, 2011 for workers compensation, which the attorney’s office allege were false.
Davis, who is a firefighter, fought seven times during that period and scored wins in organizations like Bellator, M-1 and Called Out MMA.
If convicted, Davis (12-2) could face up to five years in prison.
The light-heavyweight fighter most recently competed in January and stopped Berin Balijagic while fighting for Strength and Honor.
