The upcoming, August 17th, UFC on FOX Sports 1 card in Boston appears to have landed a compelling welterweight match-up, as according to multiple reports, Matt Brown and Thiago Alves have agreed to fight at the event.

Brown (17-11) is coming off a memorable, stoppage win over Jordan Mein at UFC on FOX 7 to extend his winning streak to five.

Alves (20-9), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last March, when he was submitted by Martin Kampmann at UFC on FX 2. The former number one contender has gone 3-2 in his last five bouts.

The August 17th event has yet to have any bouts officially confirmed for the card, which will be broadcast on the new network, FOX Sports 1. It will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden Arena.
