Report: Miesha Tate vs. Liz Carmouche Possible For UFC on FOX 8
By Timothy J. Gilbert
UFC women’s bantamweights Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche are in talks to arrange a matchup at UFC on FOX 8 set to be held on July 27 in Seattle, Washington. There is only one problem. Tate must first pass a medical inspection and have her suspension lifted.
Tate (13-4) looks to return to the octagon and bounce back from her disappointing loss to Cat Zingano. However, a broken nose, among other injuries, may keep her sidelined.
After eating several knees from Zingano in her loss on April 13, Tate was given a medical suspension until October under the suspicion that her nose had been broken. She must visit a doctor for inspection, but if her condition turns out to be better than anticipated, the suspension may be lifted in time for the fight, according to a report on Fuel TV’s UFC Tonight.
Tate hopes to face Carmouche (8-3) who was submitted by current women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 157.
