Report: Mitch Gagnon-Alex Caceres Added to UFC FN 33

Caceres

By FCF Staff

UFC Fight Night 33 has eleven fights booked, as according to multiple reports Mitch Gagnon will fight bantamweight Alex Caceres at the December 6th card. The event will be hosted by the Brisbane Entertainment Center in Brisbane, Australia.

Gagnon (10-2) will be looking for his third consecutive win, as the Canadian fighter is coming off wins at UFC 165 and UFC 152. Most recently, Gagnon choked out Dustin Kimura with a first round guillotine choke on September 21st, and approximately one year before that he tapped out Walel Watson with an armbar in the opening round. The only man to defeat Gagnon in his last 5 bouts is Bryan Caraway, who submitted him at UFC 149 in July, 2012.

Cacares (9-5) is looking to build on the split decision he recorded over Roland Delorme, which also took place at UFC 165 last month. In March, the American earned a win over Kyung Ho Kang at a UFC on FUEL TV event, but the result was overturned after Caceres tested positive for marijuana. The bantamweight is 3-1, with 1 no contest, in his last five fights.

UFC FN 33 will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between “Bigfoot” Silva and Mark Hunt, and will feature former light-heavyweight champ “Shogun” Rua fighting James Te Huna in the co-main-event.
