Nate Diaz may be back in the UFC fold, and is scheduled to fight Rafael dos Anjos on Saturday, but that hasn’t stopped him from criticizing the promotion’s recent signing of CM Punk.

Recently Diaz let it be known that he isn’t on board with the UFC’s new uniform deal, and while speaking to the media on Thursday, here is some of what he had to say about the promotion signing the pro wrestling star (quotes via MMA Junkie.com):

“If I want to, I can’t go play in the NBA – not even Stefan Struve’s big ass,” Diaz said. “He can’t go play in the NBA if he wants to because he feels like making a change. For a publicity thing? They wouldn’t pay him no money, and they wouldn’t even let him play. It’s ridiculous.”

Although financial terms of CM Punk’s contract were disclosed, Diaz angrily theorized that the aspiring fighter is going to make “more than everyone in the room”, while the lightweight’s been “fighting for 10 years”. The 29 year-old also argued that the signing “downgrades” all the current athletes signed by the UFC.

The outspoken fighter also noted that he wishes the former WWE star “no harm”.

Diaz has been openly critical of what the UFC pays him in the past, and a subsequent, contract dispute, led to the California fighter being sidedlined for much of 2014.

UFC on FOX 13 will take place Saturday night at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
