Most observers believed UFC 202 and Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor II was going to draw big numbers, and it looks like the recent card has set a new pay-per-view record for the promotion.

The August 20th card, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, is believed to have sold approximately 1.65 million PPV buys, according to a report from MMA Fighting.com. If the estimate is accurate, which was reported by sources close to the situation, that would make UFC 202 the top selling, PPV card in the promotion’s history.

Diaz – McGregor 1, which took place at UFC 196 in March, is believed to have sold 1.6 million PPVs. That card broke the previous record that was believed to be held by UFC 100.

McGregor worked his way to a decision win over Diaz at UFC 202, to avenge his submission loss to the latter at UFC 196.
