Report: Nick Diaz and Anderson Silva Interested in 2015 Bout
By FCF Staff
Talk of a possible fight between Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz continues to ramp up, and now both sides have reportedly confirmed their interest in meeting sometime early next year.
Diaz has stated in the past that a fight with Georges St-Pierre or Silva would return him to the Octagon, and more recently, Silva’s camp has said a bout with the outspoken fighter intrigues them.
In the latest edition of FOX Sport 1’s “UFC Tonight”, the show’s Ariel Helwani reported that both Diaz and Silva’s camp have repeated their interest in the fight. Diaz reportedly noted that the fight would have to make financial sense, but that it could be one of the biggest in the promotion’s history.
Diaz hasn’t fought now since March, 2013, when he was decisioned by GSP, and Silva is still recovering from a broken leg he suffered versus Chris Weidman in December.
While Silva’s recovery continues to go well, the legendary fighter doesn’t plan to fight again until early 2015.
