Report: Nick Diaz Not Interested in Fighting Hector Lombard For Less Than 500K

Dana White relayed recently that he’s offered Nick Diaz a bout with Hector Lombard, but that he has yet to hear back from the renowned welterweight. Well, it looks as though the amount of money the UFC is offering, isn’t enough to get Diaz back in the Octagon.

White reported at a media luncheon yesterday in Los Angeles that Diaz initially expressed an interested in facing the powerful Lombard, but that the outspoken fighter hadn’t gotten back to him. In a follow up interview with MMA Fighting.com, here is some of what Diaz had to say about the UFC’s latest offer:

“I never considered anything other than to renegotiate my contract or fight Johny Hendricks,” said Diaz. “All I said was, What am I getting paid? And he said, Let me check your contract. And the last text I got from him was what I would be fighting for. I didn’t consider fighting for that kind of money. I didn’t say anything back to him, right, but usually that means something. I’m not considering even for a second fighting any of those guys for less than $500,000. There’s no way.”

Diaz added that he’s “completely retired”, unless the UFC is willing to renegotiate his contract or gives him a title shot.

The 30 year-old fighter hasn’t fought now since March, 2013, when he lost by unanimous decision to Georges St-Pierre.
