Report: Nick Diaz’s Suspension Could be Reduced to 18 Months

Nick Diaz

By FCF Staff

Recently Nick Diaz reported that talks his legal team are having with the Nevada State Athletic Commission have been going “well”, and a new report say this is indeed the case.

Diaz was suspended for five years several weeks ago, after testing positive for marijuana for a third time this past January. The Nevada Commission’s decision sparked widespread criticism, and even outrage, for being too severe.

In the latest edition of “UFC Tonight“, the show’s Ariel Helwani reported that sources have informed him that Diaz’s suspension could be reduced to 18 months. In addition, his fine will also be reduced to $100,000. Diaz was initially fined $165,000.

If this transpires, Diaz could be eligible to fight again in July, 2016.
