Report: Paulo Filho Signs With World Series of Fighting
By FCF Staff
World Series of Fighting has added another established fighter to its roster, as former PRIDE star and WEC middleweight champ Paulo Filho has reportedly signed with the Las Vegas based promotion.
WSOF Vice President and matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz has relayed the signing to MMA Weekly.
Filho hasn’t fought since September when he stopped fellow Brazilian vet Murilo “Ninja” Rua, after battling renowned judo competitor Satoshi Ishii to a draw in September, 2011.
The 34 year-old-fighter went 16-0 to begin his career and position himself as one of the world’s best middleweights, before Filho lost the WEC title to Chael Sonnen in 2008.
The accomplished grappler, whose battle with personal issues has been well documented, is expected to compete for WSOF early in 2013.
