After dominating Anthony Pettis to become UFC lightweight champ in March, it looks as though Rafael dos Anjos will not defend the belt until the end of 2015.

Following RDA’s memorable win at UFC 185, it was revealed the 30 year-old had competed with a partially torn, MCL. Well, in the latest episode of “UFC Tonight“, it was reported that dos Anjos is hoping to return to the Octagon in December.

Donald Cerrone stopped John Makdessi at UFC 187 last weekend, and after the victory, UFC President Dana White confirmed the vet is the #1 contender. It remains to be seen, however, if the always active Cerrone wants to sit out that long and wait for a title shot.

RDA and Cerrone fought in 2013 and the latter lost the bout via unanimous decision.
