Report: “Rampage” Jackson’s Bonuses, Salaries For Bellator Deal Disclosed in Complaint

"Rampage" Jackson

Recently Bellator announced that it has launched a lawsuit against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, in an effort to prevent him from fighting for the UFC, and now the details of his contract with the promotion have been revealed.

Jackson resigned with the UFC in December, and after he did, the fighter and his team argued that Bellator did not honor all the terms of his deal. Jackson’s team contends that Bellator did not take steps to resolve the contract dispute, and that they terminated the deal as a result.

The Viacom owned promotion, however, disagrees, and is taking legal action as a means to compel Jackson to complete his contract. According to Bellator, Jackson has three fights remaining on his deal.

In a follow up report from Newsday.com, the media outlet has outlined the financial details and bonus structure of Jackson’s Bellator contract, and they are extensive. According to the report, Bellator claims that Jackson’s deal included fight purses ranging between $200,000 to $300,000 for non-PPV bouts, and payouts of $200,00 to $450,000 for PPV fights. In addition, the complaint claims that if Jackson didn’t retain a “certain revenue amount” of sponsorship money, Bellator would pay the star $50,000.

Bellator’s complaint also reportedly says that it paid Jackson an additional $200,000 for his May 17th, 2014 bout with “King Mo” Lawal, even though the PPV event did not reach its requisite amount. The suit says that Jackson was contractually obligated $4 per PPV sale, if the event sold over 190,000 buys.

The suit also claims that Jackson received a 2013 Tesla Sport worth $129,603, and an additional $100,000 signing bonus, when he struck his deal with Bellator in 2013. The contract also reportedly included provisions, whereby Viacom would provide Jackson a screenwriter to work on film projects, and that the company would secure “communications” between the fighter and the corporation’s Paramount Pictures. The suit claims that Jackson met with the president of the Paramount Film Group.

The 36 year-old was also paid $35,000 per episode of SPIKE TV’s “Rampage 4 Real” reality show, according to the suit.

Jackson is currently scheduled to fight Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186 on April 25th.
