Bellator and M-1 veteran Raphael Davis has pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of insurance fraud in Los Angeles, after the firefighter was charged last month, for allegedly filing fraudulent worker’s compensation claims while he competed in MMA bouts.

The fighter’s not guilty plea was reported by the Contra Costa Times.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Davis made the claims between December 2008 and May 2011.

The 12-2 fighter fought seven times between the conclusion of 2008 and May, 2011, and went 6-1 during that time.

Most recently, Davis stopped Berin Balijagic in the second round while competing for a Strength and Honor Championship event in March.

The 35 year-old Davis is due to appear in court again on June 27th.
