Report: Ricardo Lamas Fighting “Korean Zombie” at UFC 162
By FCF Staff
UFC 162 has received a significant addition, as according to multiple reports, featherweight contenders Ricardo Lamas and Chan “The Korean Zombie” Sung Jung will battle at the July 6th card. UFC 162 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Lamas (13-2) stopped Erik Koch in memorable fashion at UFC on FOX 6 to record his fourth straight win, and secure a spot at the top of the featherweight division. During his run Lamas has also defeated Hatsu Hioki, Cub Swanson and Matt Grice.
Jung (13-3) has not competed since last May when he choked out Dustin Poirier with a fourth round D’Arce Choke at a UFC on FUEL card. The South Korean fighter has won three straight fights and is also one of the featherweight division’s top ranked fighters.
“The Korean Zombie” has been sidelined more recently with a shoulder injury.
UFC 162 will be headlined by a middleweight bout between champion Anderson Silva and challenger Chris Weidman.
