Rich "Ace" Franklin

As expected would be the case, Rich Franklin has reportedly been hired by ONE FC, and has begun his role as the Asian based promotion’s Vice President.

In April, Franklin confirmed that he was in talks with ONE FC about taking an executive position, but noted he wanted to discuss the opportunity with the UFC first. UFC President Dana White relayed that the job would not prohibit Franklin from completing his contract with ZUFFA, and today Yahoo Sports is reporting the fighter has taken the job.

According to the aforementioned report, Franklin has been in Singapore this week due to his new role, which will include media work and eventually fighter development.

“I am here to learn the culture of the organisation; how it operates, how it functions,” Franklin told Yahoo Sports. “They have an aggressive growth plan over the next couple of years and it will be about me learning how that growth plan is going to execute.”

Franklin still has one fight left on his current UFC deal, and the 39 year-old repeated his desire to complete the contract and compete one more time.
