It looks as though Rory MacDonald’s lengthy run with the UFC has come to an end, as according to a new report, the highly regarded welterweight has signed with Bellator.

MacDonald entered free agency earlier this summer, after he was decisioned by Stephen Thompson at UFC FN 89 in June. Leading up to the bout, the Canadian let it be known that he intended to test the free agent market.

According to a report from FloCombat, sources have informed the outlet that MacDonald has signed with Bellator. Although the promotion has not made any official announcement, MacDonald has been removed from the UFC’s rankings.

The 27 year-old MacDonald (18-3) joined the UFC back in 2010. During his time with the promotion, the “Red King” went 10-3, and established himself as one of the best 170’ers on the planet.
