Report: Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard in The Works For Early 2016

Both Rory MacDonald and Hector Lombard have expressed an interest in rebooking a bout between the two, and it looks like the UFC’s on board.

MacDonald and Lombard were expected to fight this past April, but after the latter tested positive for PEDs, the fight was scrapped. MacDonald went on to challenge welterweight champ Robbie Lawler in July and was stopped in the fifth round,

Lombard, meanwhile, received a one year suspension and isn’t eligible to return until next January. The Judoka decisioned Josh Burkman this past January, but after his failed drug test, the decision was overturned.

In the latest episode of “UFC Tonight”, the show’s Ariel Helwani reported that preliminary talks have begun to book MacDonald-Lombard for early 2016.
