Ronda Rousey has become one of MMA’s biggest stars, and the UFC bantamweight champ, in large part due to her world class Judo game. Heading into her UFC 170 title defense versus Sarah McMann, however, Rousey’s declared her striking is unmatched in women’s MMA.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Rousey relayed “My MMA striking is the best in the game”, while discussing the work she’s put in to round out her skills.

The Judoka and former Olympic Bronze medalist also noted the following, while talking about the evolution of striking in women’s MMA:

“It’s a younger side of the sport that’s still developing,” said Rousey. “It’s going to need a little more time before we can reach the same standard the guys are at because they had a big head start.”

Rousey (8-0) is coming off a third round, submission win over Miesha Tate in December, which marked the first time the champion was taken out of the first round.

The decorated wrestler McMann (7-0) was tapped for a title shot after she stopped Sheila Gaff last April.
