After competing on TUF 16, it looks as though MFC champion Sam Alvey is returning to the UFC, and will fight Tom Watson on August 16th.

The bout will reportedly be part of UFC Fight Night 47 in Bangor, Maine.

News of the match-up is being reported by MMA Fighting.com, which cites sources close to the situation.

Alvey (22-5) will head to UFC FN 47 having won three straights fights, after being decisioned by Elvis Mutapcic at MFC 36. Since then the charismatic middleweight has scored wins over Jay Silva, Jason South and Wes Swofford.

Watson (16-7) will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as the British fighter is coming off decision losses to Thales Leites and Nick Catone.

UFC FN 47 will also feature a middleweight fight between Brad Tavares and Tim Boetsch, and a heavyweight scrap between Shawn Jordan and Jack May.
