Report: Sarah Kaufman Pulled From UFC FN 27

Former Strikeforce women's champion Sarah Kaufman

By FCF Staff

It looks as though the UFC debut of former Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufman has been pushed back, as after original UFC Fight Night 27 opponent Sara McMann was forced to withdraw, no replacement opponent has been found.

News of Kaufman’s withdrawal is being reported by MMA Junkie.com, and the 27 year-old will reportedly be re-booked for an upcoming event.

Kaufman (16-2) is coming off a split decision win over Leslie Smith at Invicta FC 5 in April, after she lost by submission to UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey at a Strikeforce card last August. Prior to facing Rousey, Kaufman had won three straight bouts, which included victories of UFC vets Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis.

UFC FN 27 takes place August 28th at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and will feature a welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann in the main event.

The main card will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 and several preliminary bouts will air on FOX Sports 2.
