Report: Shinya Aoki Has Signed With ONE FC
By FCF Staff
While ONE FC has already added DREAM’s bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes to its roster, as many expected would be the case, it appears as though it has also signed DREAM’s lightweight champ Shinya Aoki.
Although ONE FC has not made any official announcement regarding Aoki, Bloody Elbow.com is reporting that the dangerous submission fighter has signed a multi-fight deal with the organization.
Just like Fernandes, Aoki (30-6) will reportedly make his promotional debut at ONE FC’s upcoming August 31st card in Manila. No opponent for Aoki has been confirmed.
The 29 year-old Aoki is coming off a first round, stoppage loss at the hands of Eddie Alvarez, while competing for Bellator in April.
The defeat ended the lightweight’s seven fight win streak, which includes victories over noted veterans like Rich Clementi, Lyle Beerbohm, Satoru Kitaoka and Tatsuya Kawajiri.
The news of Aoki’s signing comes at a time when ONE FC has announced that it has signed a sponsorship deal with Chevrolet and that the promotion plans on hosting 18 events in 2013.
