Dave Herman Reportedly Failed Test Due to Marijuana

By FCF Staff

Just days removed from announcing his retirement, reports have surfaced stating that Stephan Bonnar has allegedly tested positive for steroids, following his stoppage loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 153. In addition, UFC officials have reportedly confirmed that Dave Herman failed his post-fight drug test due to the presence of marijuana metabolites.

Due to the fact that the October 13th card was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which has no athletic commission, the UFC oversaw the post-fight drug tests. It remains to be seen what suspensions and fines the promotion hands down.

According to reports from MMA Junkie and MMA Weekly, Bonnar has tested positive for Drostanolone, which is an anabolic steroid. The former TUF star was suspended in 2006 for testing positive for another steroid called Boldenone, following his second bout with Forrest Griffin.

Herman failed a pre-fight drug test in Texas last October and was pulled from a scheduled bout with Mike Russow. Herman relayed later that he had tested positive for marijuana, but denied using the drug.

Herman was submitted by Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira at UFC 153 to mark his third consecutive loss.
