Report: Stipe Miocic Weighs in on Bout With JDS

Stipe Miocic

By FCF Staff

While Stipe Miocic cruised through Fabio Maldonado at the TUF Brazil III Finale, the latter was a considerable underdog heading into the bout, considering he’s been fighting at 205.

Miocic was originally scheduled to face Junior dos Santos on Saturday night, and if he had defeated the former heavyweight champ, the American would be knocking on the door for a title shot. So, is Miocic hoping to face JDS next?

Speaking to the press after his latest win, here is what Miocic had to say (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“If it happens, it happens,” Miocic said. “I’m just happy with the ‘W’ I got tonight. I just want to get back home to hang out with my family.”

With his latest victory, Miocic has won three straight fights since he was stopped by Stefan Struve in 2012.

Dos Santos hasn’t fought now since October, 2013, when he was TKO’d by champion Cain Velasquez.
