Takanori Gomi’s seven plus year run with the UFC has reportedly come to an end, as it’s being reported the former PRIDE champ is one of five fighters who have been released by the promotion.

Gomi dropped a fifth straight fight in September, as he was stopped by lightweight Dong Hyun Kim in the first round. According to an initial reportfrom Combate and a subsequent report from MMA Fighting, Gomi, alongside Hacran Dias, Henrique da Silva, Adriano Martins and Carlos Felipe have been cut.

The now 39 year-old Gomi joined the UFC in 2010, and since that time, the Japanese star has gone 4-9. His last win took place in 2014, when Gomi earned a split decision over Isaac Vallie-Flagg.
