Report: UFC 219 Likely Third Biggest PPV Card of 2017 For Promotion
By FCF Staff
UFC 219 featured one of the biggest female fights in recent memory, as featherweight champ Cris “Cyborg” took on former bantamweight champ, Holly Holm, and it looks like the card performed quite well in the pay-per-view market.
The December 30th event took place in Las Vegas, and also featured Khabib Nurmagomedov battling Edson Barboza.
According to a recent report from MMA Fighting’s Dave Meltzer, UFC 219 is estimated to have sold between 340,000 to 380,000, based on preliminary figures. If accurate, it would make the card the third, top selling PPV of the year for the company, behind UFC 217 (Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre) and UFC 214 (Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones II).
“Cyborg” and Nurmagomedov went on to record decision wins in their respective bouts.
