Report: UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes Showing “Small Signs of Improvement”

Matt Hughes is reportedly showing some indications of recovery, following a train – vehicle collision that left him seriously injured.

The UFC Hall of Fame fighter was airlifted for medical attention last month, after the truck he was driving collided with a train. Recently his family posted another update on his condition, via Facebook, which reportedly included the following (quote via MMA Fighting):

“Matt is off the ventilator and showing some small signs of improvement. There are some stories and comments out there that are exaggerated. Please don’t believe everything you hear or read. This is going to be a long journey for his recovery.”

The 43 year-old Hughes hasn’t fought since 2011, but prior to the accident. the former welterweight champ had relayed he was considering a comeback.
